Cell Danger Response: Dehydration

Getting static shocks easily can be a sign of dehydration. It means you’re not retaining enough water. Buy why?

Reasons include not drinking enough water or having low ADH (anti-diuretic hormone). ADH is reponsible for telling your body to hold onto water. Frequent urination (in the absence of a urinary tract infection) can mean low ADH.

ADH is often lowered when inflammation affects the brain long-term. This can happen from chronic infections such as Lyme, exposures to toxins, mold, and more, and we term this inflammatory condition CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome).

The Cell Danger Response is the physiological phenomenon behind CIRS by which the brain becomes inflamed and reduces production of MSH (melanocyte-stimulating hormone). When MSH Is reduced, it causes a whole host of body symtoms that to an untrained eye, seem unrelated: sleep difficulty, indigestion and food intolerances, body pain, dehydration, etc, etc. Stubborn weight gain is also an effect of brain inflammation due to leptin resistance, but more on that later.

A naturoapthic physician or integrative practitioner can run CIRS labs, test your ADH, find the underlying cause of brain inflammation, and treat effectively.
